H.E.A.L. goal and strategy

The goal of the H.E.A.L. program is simple.  It aims to improve the health and wellbeing of homeless people in Darwin by combating against the adverse effects that are caused by being stigmatised.  Our strategy addresses stigma in two ways:
  1. by working with homeless/houseless individuals at a grass roots level by providing practical supports so they are better able to engage with society; and
  2. by challenging the attitudes and behaviours of mainstream society that determine who is normal and who should be stigmatised.
