About LNAC
The Larrakia Nation Aboriginal Corporation (LNAC) was established more than a decade ago, initially to represent the Native Title interests of our people.
The LNAC has since grown and is now a vehicle for our social, cultural, professional and economic aspirations through:
- managing;
- delivering; and
- accessing the LNAC programs and services.
The LNAC is the peak representative body of the Larrakia peoples.
Due to our authoritative cultural position and demonstrated professional capacity, we have also become the key front line service provider to Indigenous houseless and/or homeless visitors from throughout the Northern Territory when they are in Darwin - often referred to locally as ‘staying in the Long Grass’.
This has been possible because our poeple feel a deep sense of responsibility and compassion towards our fellow countrymen, many of whom experience daily life within deplorable conditions.
The LNAC services(LINK TO PROGRAMS), predominantly funded by the NT Government, are all about improving the health and wellbeing of Territorians and have an added focus on minimising ‘anti-social’ behaviour.
